consumer fireworks.

include
firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, roman candles, bombs, and
sparklers.

Fireworks
and celebrations often go together, especially during the
Fourth of July.
Fireworks
can be dangerous, causing serious burn and eye injuries.

If
fireworks are legal where you live and you decide to set them
off on your own, be
sure to follow these important safety tips:

read and follow all warnings and instructions

Never
allow children to play with or ignite fireworks always
have an adult present

Dispose
of fireworks properly by soaking them in water

Never
carry fireworks in your pocket

The
operator should always wear eye protection

Be
sure other people are out of range before lighting fireworks. Never
throw or point fireworks at other people

Light
only one firework at a time

Only
light fireworks outdoors, on a smooth, flat surface away from
the house dry
leaves, and flammable materials.

try to relight “dud” fireworks that have not fully
functioned

Keep
water nearby in case of a malfunction or fire

Never
shoot fireworks in metal or glass containers

experiment or make your own fireworks

Stay
away from illegal explosives
