Howard Kelly Blanton, 61, of Brunswick died Sunday at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.
Wednesday at the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with
the Revs. David Griffin, Virgil Carter and Chip Sekulich
officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9
tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Wheelis, Rip
Revels, Doug Cranford, B.H. Tanner, Bruce Dunham, Bill Mason,
Andy Jones, and Andy Long.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of
the Glynn County Fire Department, all Glynn County volunteer
firefighters, and members of Elks Lodge No. 691.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie
Anderson of Baxley and Iris B. Bryan of Brunswick; a son, Kelly
Blanton of Brunswick; a sister, Marie Roberson of Brunswick;
four brothers, John Kimberly Blanton, Odell Blanton, and Wayne
Blanton, all of Brunswick, and Hoyt Blanton of Savannah; four
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A native of Baxley, he had been a
resident of Brunswick 43 years. He was a member of Memorial
Freewill Baptist Church of Surrency, B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 691,
and was an honorary Glynn County volunteer firefighter. He was
employed with Sea Island Co.
