A 43-year-old Brunswick man was arrested Friday after attacking two Emergency Medical Technicians in an ambulance. The suspect called an ambulance to his residence in the 2020 block of J Street, complaining of chest pains, according to the Brunswick police report released Wednesday.

When the ambulance was transporting him to the hospital, he asked the EMTs to take him to a liquor store and became angry when they refused. He allegedly took off his seat belt and attempted to exit the vehicle.

When the ambulance stopped, the suspect clenched his fists and acted as if he was going to fight the EMTs.

He was arrested and charged with one count of simple assault and one count of obstructing EMTS with violence.
