GLYNN COUNTY, Ga.- Fire departments
around the Nation have a long standing tradition of supporting the Muscular
Dystrophy Association and the many men, women and children affected by these
devastating diseases. Each year Glynn County has demonstrated its commitment
through the annual boot drive.
This year the Glynn firefighters are
hoping increasing their contribution to the MDA conducting a boot drive on
Friday June 13, Saturday June 14, and Sunday June 15. This boot drive is being
done on Fathers’ day weekend in the hopes of increasing the proceeds which are
then contributed to the MDA.
As with most of the Departments boot
drives the collection times for each day will be 9:00 am -6:00 pm and all
Department personnel are encouraged to coordinate their collection activities
with their shift Deputy Chief.
Captain Poppell has arranged for
Department personnel to be located at several locations around the County to
maximize the exposure and collection possibilities. These locations are as
follows;

As with all other boot drives for the
MDA all proceeds will be forwarded to them. Last year Glynn Firefighters’
contributed $ 6,896.00 to the MDA. With the support of the citizens the
Department is optimistic that that goal can be exceeded.
