Two people were taken to the hospital
with non-life threatening injuries Friday after two vehicles collided on U.S. 17
North before striking an oncoming Glynn County school bus.
Terri Lancaster, who witnessed the
wreck on her way home from work, said she was behind a pickup truck at a stop
sign at Peek Road when another truck pulled out into oncoming traffic at about 4
p.m.
An oncoming Buick Custom hit the
truck’s left side and caused both to spin in separate directions, she said.
The school bus, from Glynn Middle
School, swerved to miss the blue car and stopped in a diagonal position on the
right side median.
The female driver and male passenger
in the Custom were taken by ambulance to the emergency room of the Southeast
Georgia Health System, according to police.
Police did not release the names of
the individuals involved.
The bus driver and nine students who
were on the bus also were not injured, said Glynn Middle Resource Officer Ricky
Hilburn, who was at the scene.
