ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA – Saturday
November 17 the Glynn County Fire Department personnel, both paid and volunteer,
assisted in the annual Family Festival at St. Williams Catholic Church.
On hand was “Freddie the Fire Truck,”
a remote controlled fire truck that the operator with the help of a headset,
speaker and microphone can talk to kids to both educate and entertain smaller
children.
Freddie is a very effective tool that
children really respond to and truly helps inform the children of fire related
dangers and what to do in that case.
On hand as well was the St. Simons
Island Volunteer’s 1951 Chevrolet Fire Truck for the kids and adults alike to
enjoy, climb on and check out.
This years festival was a great
success and once again the fire department was there to help lend a hand and
more importantly help educate our kids.
