I would like to take this opportunity
to sincerely thank Glynn County and the Glynn County Fire Department for an
excellent Fill the Boot campaign this year.
The combination of the citizens’
generosity and the fire fighters’ dedication made it possible to beat last
year’s total and raise over$3,900 to help Jerry’s Kids and the Muscular
Dystrophy Association.
Fire departments throughout the
United States remain the top supporters of those with neuromuscular diseases.
The Glynn County Fire Department
willingly offers its time and energy to support MDA, although it receives no
tangible compensation for it.
MDA is very appreciative to the
firefighters for doing so. The money the fire department raised this year will
directly assist families affected by muscular dystrophy in southeast Georgia and
northeast Florida.
The money can provide free
neurological services at Nemours Children’s Clinic and Mayo Clinic in
Jacksonville.
It will also fund purchases of leg
braces, wheelchairs and communication devices for those who need them. The money
will also provide a fun-filled week of MDA Summer Camp on St. Simons Island for
Jerry’s kids at no cost to their families.
On behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association, I thank the Glynn County Fire Department for another successful
Fill the Boot campaign.
To the people of Glynn County: We
appreciate your donations to the firefighters in their mission to help eradicate
neuromuscular diseases in Glynn County.
Your support remains MDA’s hope for a
cure.
