GLYNN COUNTY, GA - Sunday the Glynn County Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in a secluded area of the county.  Reports of the surrounding wooded area being on fire also were coming in.

The first in unit, an ambulance, reported a doublewide mobile home fully involved with fire rapidly spreading into the wooded area around the house.  They also advised that they would be on the road as they were in danger of being surrounded and cut-off from the road by the fire.  The Ballard volunteers were notified and the call was put out for a tanker to respond.

Georgia Forestry also had personnel responding to the area.  As fire fighters battled the structure fires the forestry service was busy cutting fire breaks around the growing wildfire.

The fire was quickly brought under control and contained.  Personnel continued to work extinguishing hotspots and doing overhaul.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.  A large sum of money was recovered from the residence.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
