Gill, from left, Ruben Shaw, and Bill Keener put the
finishing touches on a new hose drying rack at
Station 1 on Monday. The rack, built by
firefighters in Platoon 3 between calls and regular
duties, took about a month to construct.
Measuring 10 feet by 64 feet, it replaces a
20-year-old smaller rack. Fire hoses are
cleaned, washed and rolled out on the rack after
calls. |
