GLYNN COUNTY, GA. - Tuesday,
July 15, 2003 -- At approximately 11:00 am the Glynn
County Fire Department responded to a residential
structure fire. Personnel from Glynn County Fire
Department's headquarters station and the Ballard
volunteer division responded to the scene.
Once
on location, personnel reported that there was smoke
coming from the eaves and attic vents. An interior
attack was deployed along with a rapid intervention
team. The interior crew made quick work of
extinguishing the fire, which was contained to the room
of origin that was the kitchen.
Following
extinguishment of the fire personnel concentrated their
efforts on ventilating excess smoke from the residence.
Overhaul operations were also deployed in conjunction to
a cause and origin investigation.
Personnel
were released from the scene at approximately 1:00 pm
with one engine standing by at the residence until the
homeowner could arrive.
There
were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
