GLYNN COUNTY, GA -- At approximately 22:30 hours on Monday June 16, 2003 the Glynn County Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer on fire.  Upon arrival, the first in units reported that the contents of a trash transfer trailer were involved and that the trailer was located within a shelter with other vehicles.  Career personnel assisted by personnel from the Ballard volunteer division performed suppression activities and contained the fire until the truck and trailer could be relocated outside and unloaded.  Once unloaded and on the ground department personnel, now being assisted by trash facility personnel, continued suppression activities until the fire was extinguished.  Damage was limited to the trash transfer trailer, which burned through both side panels, and is believed to have been valued near sixty thousand dollars ($ 60,000.00).  The scene was released to the owner shortly after midnight with no injuries being reported as the result of this incident.
