September
26, 2002 -The Brunswick Exchange Club recognized firefighters
from all of the local fire departments and agencies in an award
luncheon Tuesday September 24, 2002 at their fair ground
facility. Local
departments honored at the ceremony included the Jekyll Island
Fire Department, the Brunswick Fire Department, the Glynn County
Fire Department – both career and volunteer divisions, and the
Georgia Forestry Commission.
In
preparation for today’s activity, each department or agency
selected from the ranks of their personnel a member who will
receive the honor of “Firefighter of the Year”.
The personnel selected to represent each department have
demonstrated the dedication and commitment that exemplifies a
firefighter. These
personnel were selected by their co-workers and chief officers
based on their personnel efforts and achievements over the past
year.
