Captain
Garland Evors, of the Glynn County Fire Department, has recently
been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
Many people know Captain Evors as “Smokehouse Willie”,
one of the clowns in the Glynn County Fire Department’s Clown
Society. Garland has been an active part in the Fire Prevention and
Fire Safety Education activities of the fire department, and was
recently named Fire Safety Educator of the Year for the State of
Georgia.
Garland
and his family are facing difficult times and will need all the
help and support they can get.
There will be many medical and travel expenses as they
travel to specialists seeking treatment for his condition.
If
anyone would like to make a contribution toward these expenses,
there is an account set up at Glynn Teachers Federal Credit
Union in Brunswick and an account set up at Interstate Unlimited
Federal Credit Union in Jesup, both in the name of “Garland
Evors Medical Fund”. Contributions
can be made at either one of the banks, or they can be mailed to
the Glynn County Fire Department, made out to the Garland Evors
Medical Fund.
